There are no academic requirements in order to be admitted to the School and no testing is administered prior to admission.
In order to attend the N.E.W. Generation High School, an applicant must perform the following actions:
1. Application: Complete and submit an application form: Application forms can be received at the main office of the campus. It is required by law that families provide proof of residency at the time they submit the application by providing one of the following documents: a gas bill, an electricity bill, or a lease agreement. All applicants will be assigned an Applicant Identification Number (AIN). This number will be used in the event of a lottery.
Applicants who will be given preference*:
a Students who were enrolled with the organization the year before.
b Students whose parents are staff members with the organization.
c Students whose parents are on the Founding Board of Directors of the organization.
d Students who have siblings enrolled with the organization.
2. Registration: All parents/guardians will complete a formal student registration. A registration packet will be sent to the applicant’s home and parents/guardians are required to complete all forms and provide all requested documentation in order for the child to begin school at N.E.W. Generation. Registration deadline is indicated in the packet. Registration for current students will begin in February. Registration will open to the public in March.
3. Orientation: All applicants and parents/guardians will attend a required orientation. At orientation all students and parents/guardians will sign a contract that outlines student and parent expectations.
4. Acceptance Notification: Accepted students will be notified within 2 weeks of the lottery.
In the event that more students have enrolled to N.E.W. Generation than there are spots available by the deadline established by the organization, a lottery will be held to determine which students will be accepted. The following students will be given a priority in admission and excluded from the lottery process:
Students who were enrolled with the organization the year before.
Students whose parents are faculty or staff members with the organization.
Students whose parents are on the Founding Board of Directors of the organization.
Students who have siblings enrolled with the organization.
In the event that there are more students that are to be automatically accepted than there are spots available, a lottery will be held as described below. The lottery will create a primary list of students and the initial waiting list from the students who have applied.
Once the deadline has passed, all students’ Application Identification Number will be entered, except for those that have a priority as set forth above. In a public setting, on the school’s campus, numbers will be randomly chosen to decide which students will be accepted into the school by openings in each class offered. All students will be ranked based on these random numbers. All students who are granted acceptance will be notified, and asked to respond whether they will be attending. If not, the next student on the list will be granted that position until the entire list has been accepted. If there are still openings, the spots will be awarded on a first come first serve basis
